Helen Kim Skinner received her J.D. and M.S.W. from Loyola University Chicago in 1997. She practiced as an attorney with the Cook County Public Defender's Office and the Federal Defender Program for fifteen years before turning her focus to mitigation work and teaching. She has been an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School and Loyola's School of Social Work for over ten years, and she currently consults with the Federal Defender Program as a field educator for M.S.W. graduate students from University of Chicago's School of Social Administration, Loyola University's School of Social Work and Jane Addams College of Social Work.
